This review is long overdue. I've been a traveling nurse for 7 years and have visited dozens of spray tan salons across the country -- none even come close to Tan with Kare. The attention to detail and level of care the owner has put into every aspect of this business is truly outstanding. I've been tanned by Jordan, Julie, Kate, Karen -- honestly, probably every artist there -- and I consistently walk out with the perfect tan, no matter who sprays me. Their hours are fantastic, especially for those of us working 12-hour shifts who need evening appointments. And my biggest pet peeve with airbrush tans -- feeling wet or sticky afterward -- doesn't exist here. Their drying system and the powder they apply post-tan are lightyears ahead of anything I've experienced elsewhere. They even once walked me to my car with an umbrella -- when it was raining -- just to protect my tan. That's the level of care they show every client. FAQ

How long do I need to wait before showering after my spray tan?

You should wait 12–24 hours before the first shower. The first shower should be a quick rinse, soap only on important areas.

How far in advance of an event should I get my spray tan done?

For weddings, you should schedule it 2 days prior. For other events, 1–2 days ahead is ideal.

Can I shave or get a pedicure after my spray tan?

• You can shave, but only with gentle, sulfate-free products.
• Pedicures are best done before your appointment (making sure no lotion is used on your legs). If you get one afterward, you should wait at least a day and avoid exfoliating scrubs or hot towels on your legs.

Can I work out soon after my spray tan?

You should wait until you’ve rinsed off the bronzer layer — usually a day after the spray tan. Sweating too soon can cause uneven fading. After rinsing, you should wear dark workout clothes and apply powder in high-friction areas (like under your sports bra or on your feet) to help protect the tan.

Will the spray tan rub off on clothes, and does swimming affect it?

• Yes, some rub-off is normal — especially right after your appointment. Since it’s water-soluble, it should wash out. You should wear dark, loose, cotton clothing.
• Chlorinated pool water can fade your tan faster, so rinsing off right after swimming is key. Saltwater is gentler, but you should still avoid abrasive contact with sand.
